Homework is an important part of learning. It provides opportunity for students to practice the skills they learn in class and increases Reading Comprehension. It also teaches students the life skills of responsibility and effort. As a team, we need to work together to insure the success of the student.
Student Responsibilities:
Write down all assignments correctly in Daily Planner.
Bring all books, worksheets, and necessary items home.
Read 30 minutes of reading every day!!!
Do homework in a timely manner. Goofing off cuts into your free time.
Make sure your work is neat and legible. Take pride in your work.
Ask for help if you need it.
Show parents homework, reading log and planner daily.
Give parents all flyers and notices sent home from school.
Turn in homework on time with appropriate heading.
Parent Responsibilities:
Provide a quiet, well-lit area for your child to do their work.
Make sure your child is reading nightly!
Help your child with any questions they might have.
Ask to see Daily Planner and Homework nightly.
Sign Daily Planner if necessary.
Check your student’s work folder every Friday.
Monitor your student’s progress on Major and Minor projects.
Teacher Responsibilities:
Assign meaningful homework with clear directions
Help students who are having difficulty on homework.
Check to make sure homework is turned in on time.
Check homework and return it in a timely manner.
Communicate with Parents any trouble their students might be having with their homework.
Give at least 4 weeks notice on major projects- ex. Explorer Report, Science Fair Project, and State Report.
Give at least 2 weeks notice on minor projects- ex. “How to Speeches”.
